Curriculum Intent
Curriculum Intent
Our curriculum is driven by a need to give the children, at Newtown, an excellent education along with wonderful childhood experiences.
We strongly believe that, at primary school, children develop lifelong learning skills which will empower them to achieve their aspirations in later life. The enriched curriculum is full of language and knowledge which not only meets the requirements of the National Curriculum but goes beyond experiences in the classroom.
Our aim is to enhance every child's school experience by creating an environment where they are encouraged to succeed and be the best that they can be. The exploration of new skills and experiences help to nurture our school values of Successful Learners, Resilient Individuals and Responsible Citizens.
The curriculum is furthered by our commitment for teaching British Values as well encouraging children to be confident, motivated and lifelong learners.
Curriculum Celebrations Intent
At Newtown, it is our aim to guide children to become well-rounded by demonstrating our school values of successful learners, resilient individuals and responsible citizens. Through the curriculum celebrations, we are empowering children to be able to communicate and speak effectively in Standard English for a range of audiences and purposes. These skills will serve them well into their adulthood. This will also enable the children to better embed knowledge and skills learnt through the curriculum.
